The holiday season is all about connection, generosity, and uplifting the people who make our Western New York community feel like home. At 716 Garage Door Repair Service, giving back isn’t just something we talk about—it’s something our team truly believes in. That’s why every year, we host our Door of Giving Challenge, a holiday donation campaign designed to support a deserving family, veteran, or local non-profit with the gift of a brand-new garage door or much-needed repair services.

This year’s submissions reminded us just how many incredible people quietly face hardships with strength and grace. After reading through dozens of heartfelt nominations, our team selected a local family who had been navigating an especially difficult season. Their garage door was far beyond repair, and the safety of their home depended on a replacement they simply couldn’t afford.

Instead of walking away, our technician saw an opportunity to make a real difference.

A Gift That Truly Made the Season Bright

When our tech arrived for what was expected to be a routine service call, he quickly realized the family was dealing with more than just a broken door. After hearing their story and seeing the condition of the system, our team knew this was exactly the kind of situation the Door of Giving Challenge was created for.

So 716 Garage Door stepped in—no hesitation, no strings attached.

We donated a brand-new garage door and handled the entire installation at no cost to the family. Watching their faces light up as the new door lifted for the first time was the highlight of our year. Moments like this remind us why community matters and why small businesses can have a big impact.

As we shared on Facebook:
“Seeing their smiles made our whole year. Small business, big heart—grateful to spread a little hope this season.”

About the Door of Giving Challenge

Door Ofgiving Header

This past November, 716 Garage Door invited the community to help us identify individuals or organizations who could benefit from a helping hand. The process is simple:

How It Works

  • Nominate a family, veteran, or local non-profit in need of garage door repair or a full replacement
  • Our team reviews all submissions
  • We select winner(s) based on need, safety concerns, and community impact
  • 716 Garage Door donates the hardware, labor, and installation—completely free of charge

The submission deadline for 2025 was November 27, and nominations can be submitted on our website or through our Facebook page each holiday season.

This challenge inspires incredible stories of neighbors helping neighbors, and we’re humbled to be part of that tradition.

Why We Give Back

Running a local service business means we meet people from every corner of our region—families doing their best, veterans rebuilding after hardship, nonprofits working tirelessly with limited resources. When we can lend our skills to make someone’s home safer or lighten their load, we consider that a privilege.

The Door of Giving Challenge is our way of saying thank you to a community that supports us year-round. When we help lift someone else up, the whole community rises with them.

From Our Family to Yours—Happy Holidays

As we celebrate this season of generosity, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who submitted nominations, shared stories, and helped spread the word. Your participation strengthens our mission and fuels our commitment to serving Western New York with pride, compassion, and craftsmanship.

From the entire team at 716 Garage Door Repair Service, we wish you a warm, safe, and joyful holiday season.

Here’s to opening more doors—and hearts—in the year ahead.
